Meanwhile, I missed work, overstayed my lease (and had to pay a penalty for that), and ended up having to book a different company anyway. Basically, they didn't deliver, then provided such bad information that we wasted days trying to work with them. I asked why I had to wait so long even though they had shells available, and they said they couldn't do anything about it. I asked if they were delivering ZippyShells to other customers in NYC while I waited, and they said yes. The problem is that they jerked us around all weekend, then on Monday they once again said a truck was on the way-when it didn't show up either, I called and they said the next available slot was on the following Friday. We might be able to find something for the next day. We might be able to find something for Monday. At various points I was told by ZippyShell and their local subcontractor: We have to reschedule for 1 week later. The truck missed the agreed-upon time window on a Friday, I had to call to find out what was happening, then I proceeded to get contradictory and misleading information from ZippyShell. I made the mistake of using ZippyShell for a move from NYC to GA. No idea how much longer it’ll take them to deliver. The family is suffering and stressed out. They keep telling me they’re sorry but it happens. I call but there’s no urgency in their response. I called and they agreed and revised the date by adding an additional 8 days to the delivery time. 7days before it shipped, I calculated it was impossible for my container to arrive on time (11hrs driving limit per day which is approximately 600-650 miles and a day for transfer to local service for delivery). Each time they said it’s on schedule and not to worry even though no one checked on it. I had been calling asking why it had not moved (5 times) prior to it shipping. Which is one day from the time they were supposed to deliver it. They waited 19 days from the time they picked it up to begin to ship it. The problem was once they had my container and were supposed to transport it. They even dropped off the container and provided good communications until after they picked it up. I had no problems ordering for a cross country move with them. And only the dispatch manager knows what’s going on so make sure you ask for them if you want to know where your stuff is. They will not tell you with any accuracy or honesty. You do get out exactly what you put in, so you put your best foot forward, you WILL grow and progress with this company.*Make sure you put an Apple tag or another geo location tracker with your stuff so you know where it is. Everything that is needed for the call center is provided to you, you just need to bring your A-game, same for ANY OTHER JOB. The most enjoyable aspect of this job is the paychecks, without the bruises and scuffs of having to do manual labor, or the need for out-of-pocket expenses for out-of-the-office equipment. Hardest part of the job is talking to a customer who refuses to understand the product and just wants service-for-nothing. The workplace environment is second to none, both friendly/laid back, yet professional. As long as you keep management in close-contact to you, rather than avoid them at every chance, this job is a cake-walk. I have been in 2 different departments, Sales and Customer Service, and I was promoted to an important position in Customer Service that I earned through hard work and commitment to the job. If you can learn and retain the simplicity of the product and procedures, and you have the willingness to do well, you CAN progress in this company. A day in Packrat: punch in, get on the phone, handle business.
